Blah…

So it’s been a good break from bloggin… pretty much means i’ve been slammed with work and doin a buncha nothing.  My buddy JR just got back from a missions trip he did this summer spending 10 months in New Hamshire spreading the gospel and doin stuff like that up there.  So I’ve been spending a buncha time hangin out with him… doin pretty much as useless of stuff as can be done.

Other than this news.. i’ve been busy with working at Bateman’s (Bateman’s) & babysitting a kid from my other job during the school year, over at Boys’ Latin.  Working this hard making soo little money has me realizing that money really doesn’t come as easy as it used to.  Amung other things… LIFE BLOWS right now… I gotta step my spiritual game waaay up.

So at Towson I’m heavily involved in the student ministry called Campus Crusade for Christ.  I lead freshman Bible studies, and the Community service team.. but this summer has really really tested my faith, as far as how much control I’ve given up or need to give up to God.  What I’m saying is I need to embrace the Lord more and really give back control of my life to what He’s got in store for me.

To each their own, but the way I look at this whole “religion” debacle.. is simply.. God isn’t a WAY of life… He IS life.  “Religion” sucks.. and in my opinion kills Christ.  My spiritual life consists of Jesus and myself.  I have a personal relationship with God, it’s GREAT!

American Pride…

It’s funny how I feel about all this.  Usually I’m not one that’s big on American Pride… don’t get me wrong, I love this country and all the opportunities that its given me and my family, but there’s so much to not like about the country as well… poverty, economy, politics, corruption, racism… list is pretty much endless.  I’m not saying that it’s any different in other parts of the world, cause honestly I wouldn’t know first hand.  But last night I felt One with the nation as I’m sure A LOT of Americans did, or at least should’ve.  Mike Phelps & Co. pulled off the photo finish in a relay just edging out the French, who’ve been talking smack saying how they were “here to smash the U.S.”  Words really can’t describe how patriotic it felt watching these men swimming… lol

The family I sometimes babysit for actually has a membership to the same pool that Phelps and Katie Hoff train at.. It just so happens I babysat today..

I didn’t take my phone inside but there were banners and photos all over the place… oh and Fox was there too shooting a piece on the place.

My latest pickup has me reliving 2000 like it wasn’t just 8 years ago…. so much has happened in the past 8 years.. moved down to MD… 4 years of high school… 4 years of college…  etc etc etc…

These shoes are prolly up there on my all time favorites, and thanks to a buddy who works at footaction, i got them half off…

DC was fun today…. started off with the metro ride that took longer than expected… then the zoo was kinda boring… animals seemed to be in hibernation except the big ole gerbil type thing, creeped me out… After walking around aimlessly there, we finally left for Georgetown… walked around a bunch there… nothing too special.. just really really nice roads..

We decided to walk over to Commonwealth to see what they had… it was a 2 mile hike and they had barely anything to choose from.  Arrived in front of ESPN zone to find a buncha guys who weren’t really talking, knew right away this was the internet meet-up, hahah, cool guys all the way around… all in all it was a fun night…

If you woulda asked me last year I woulda laughed and said never…

Earth Treks…

Kicked my behind like no other… My buddy Dan works at this climbing gym in Timonium, MD, called Earth Treks.. just a buncha walls with rocks stickin out for people to climb… gotta say white people are crazy.  I used to climb quite a bit at Towsons rock climbing wall but these were prolly twice as high.  Needless to say my hands hurt from typing this.
